“After the Storm”; 2024

MICHAELA

March 1st - May 16

Opening Reception: Friday, March 1 | 4:00-7:00 pm.

LEVEE CONTEMPORARY is proud to announce a new exhibition featuring artwork by Princeton-based photographer Michaela Foreman. The show will open Friday, March 1st with an opening reception on that Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. The reception is free and open to the public, who are encouraged to check out the photography, chat with the artist, and enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks.

Michaela Foreman records images that evoke the often brutal and isolated conditions of winter farming in rural Wisconsin. Working daily with horses, Foreman embraces their stoicism toward inclement weather. The result is a curated series of photographs that pointedly capture a world, devoid of color and warmth, with stark images that find beauty even in the worst of conditions.

Her photography will be the feature exhibition of the upstairs gallery at Levee Contemporary and will stay up through the spring. Gallery hours are Thursday through Monday, 9 am - 5 pm.

Levee Contemporary is a commercial gallery and art space located at 518 W. Water St. in Princeton, Wisconsin. Levee presents a diverse range of artists and artwork, striking a critical balance between progressive works that challenge their audiences and creative content that excites viewers with simple acts of enjoyment and visual stimulation. Central to Levee is its partner artist program, which invites contemporary artists from around the country to display their latest work. Visitors to the Foreman exhibition should also make time to peruse the partner artist gallery on the first floor.
